Hello, and welcome to the end of the financial year and the start of a new one. If you book your work before the end of the month, you may be able to claim it on tax – just double-check with your accountant. In other news:
What I’m Reading: The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
I picked this up at the airport, and it hooked me from the start. A true story of one of the survivors of the holocaust who did everything he could to keep himself and his girlfriend alive. Addictive reading. I won’t spoil the ending but it’s well worth the read. I believe it’s now been made into a TV series on STAN, but I haven’t seen it yet.
What I’m Watching: Sweet Tooth Season Three
I loved this series. The short version is that overnight, all human babies were born part animal and part human (hybrids) while at the same time, a plague starts killing off all the humans (except the hybrids). Humans blame the new hybrids for the plague and try to make them extinct. The story centres on a ten-year-old orphan deer boy and his unlikely ally as they try to save the world.
This was the end of the story and again, I won’t spoil it for you, but it was a brilliant ending! This was the perfect show to watch with my 10 and 12-year-old. I often find it challenging to find something that’s enjoyable for both adults and little people and this ticked all my boxes. This was a satisfying end to the story. Ten Stars!
What I’m Listening To: Sleeve by Nate Smith.
I’ve been listening to this for a while now, and it’s yet to get old. I love this guy’s voice. It's definitely a song for the country playlist.
Photo of the Month: Nara Deer Park
Nebraska and I recently visited Japan for the first time, and the deer were our favourite part of the trip. The deer are considered sacred to the area, so they roam freely down from the mountains and into town. They are also wild, so they will tackle you for food, which Nebraska learnt the hard way. He was a good sport about it after the initial shock, though!
I could have spent days here.
