January 2023 Resume Writing Newsletter
Happy 2023. Things have been super busy here this January which is why this newsletter is a little late coming out.
First up: I won the Winner of the Australian Enterprise Awards 'Best Independent Resume Writer of the Year' Award. The biggest thanks to the person who nominated me for the award. It was such a lovely surprise.
Second: The new website is up and running (finally). Biggest thanks to Matt Edwards for making me look so professional in all the website shots. You can the new website out here:
I’ve been very busy! All that aside, here are my top five tips to rocket launch your job search in 2023:
Update your resume
Network and reach out to connections
Research the company and tailor your applications
Prepare for job interviews by practicing
Open up to new opportunities
Now is the best time of the year to update your resume. This will make you prepared for anything and everything that comes your way in 2023. You can find more about my professional resume service here or give me a call or shoot me an email if you want to book in.
In other news:
What I’m reading: I just finished 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson. It was a hard read for me. I think because I am so used to reading quick bites on the internet now and sitting down to a novel written with so much complex language and tackling such difficult topics seemed like a lot of work. Don’t get me wrong. It was worth it, just more challenging to stay focused.
What I’m watching: I’ve finally been converted to Yellowstone and I can’t get enough!
What I’m listening to: Is anyone NOT listening to Flowers by Miley Cyrus? Talk about a song getting stuck in your head!
Photo of the month: Matt Edwards did a wonderful job in pulling tother images for my new website. Impossible choice but this was one of my favourites!
Once again, happy 2023. Give me a call on 0439 160 982 for assistance with all your resume and selection criteria or I’ll catch up with you next month.
